About Michael Messier
Michael Messier was formerly the Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Excelitas Technologies, a privately held, $850M global leader in photonics with over 6,500 employees. At Excelitas, he was responsible for creating the company’s global human resources strategy and leading HR and business initiatives that attracted, engaged, retained and developed a strong global team, which enabled the company to achieve its growth objectives. He was instrumental in creating and building the company’s unique workplace culture that fostered a highly engaged global workforce. He also led the corporate marketing, legal and compliance areas at different stages of his Excelitas tenure.
Michael has a long and accomplished HR career, with more than 30 years of experience in the high tech, software, internet, telecommunications, and electronics industries. As an innovator who has demonstrated success in aligning the mission of HR with the mission of the business, he has served in several senior leadership roles at Cisco, Monster Worldwide, Progress Software, IBM, and others.
